Will Wenge work for a bridge and fingerboard? |

Yes. I have done both. On a side note... we all know that wenge is porous. What I didn't realize was just how porous. When I glued on my wenge bridge, glued actually squeezed through the wings all the way to the top side! ![]() |

I've also found wenge to be a bit split prone. Using it for a bridge would make me a bit nervous... |

"I've also found wenge to be a bit split prone. Using it for a bridge would make me a bit nervous..." +1 - If the bridge is flatsawn it might not be as big of a concern, but if it is vertical grain I wouldn't use it. |

Hey Tim. I picked up a nice wenge board at Woodcraft and thought it might work well... Its interesting that Chris has had the glue come through the wings on the bridge.... Ed and Clay - I'll see if it looks split-prone. I may not use it on my next build, but I did want to see what folks thought of it... |
